Frequently Asked Questions

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.

Music therapy can aid in reduced anxiety, reduced depression, reduced stress, improved emotional regulation and processing , improved self-esteem & sense of identity, improved communication & social skills to name a few!

Music therapists assess emotional, physical, communication abilities and cognitive skills. They then design a treatment plan based on the clients unique needs, either for individuals or group settings.  Music therapists use interventions such as lyric analysis, song listening, song writing, movement, instrument play and improvisation  to address  these non-musical goals through music.
